Creating interfaces is hard. But it’s not hard because you have to find great ideas. I am sure most of us do have great ideas.
It actually becomes hard when you have to make other people accept your ideas for the UI. But why is that? Most of the time, project people do agree on specifications, but as soon as they start talking about UI, it’s all about divergence of visions, compromises, and finally frustrations. I am sure you have been through this.
There is a very simple reason for that : specification is about reason, design is about taste. And you will never succeed convincing someone to change his own taste.
